The Skooba Design Laptop Slim Case Video Review

Posted by Jason Dunn in "Laptop Thoughts Accessories" @ 08:00 AM

This is my review of the Skooba Design Laptop Slim Case, a lightweight laptop and gadget carrying case. Skooba, formerly known as RoadWired, has been making impressive bags for years, and this is one of their slimmest (3.5 inches) and most light-weight (18 ounces) bags yet. It's perfect for day-to-day business outings and even short trips or a vacation where you want to travel light. It has over 12 different pockets, pouches, and storage zones but it becomes a little unwieldy if you cram them all full. This bag works best if you pack it light. Check out my review for all the details, but if you're short on time, here's the summary: two thumbs up. Buy it.

You can purchase the bag from $59.95, but watch the video for a special coupon code to save 20% off any order over $50.

Laptop Bag Includes Built in Table

Posted by Chris Gohlke in "Digital Home Hardware & Accessories" @ 03:30 AM

"It's called the Laptop Table Bag and it looks like a surprisingly normal, if decidedly corporate-issue, laptop bag. But, out of the bottom pivots four legs to hold your mobile device at what may or may not be a comfortable height. The 5980 yen ($75) contraption weighs about six pounds empty."

At first I thought this was cool, but then as I thought about it, not so much. How often do you find yourself without a table or other suitable surface to set up your laptop on, yet you have the space/time to set something like this up?

Skooba Design Launches Several New Products

Skooba Design has launched a whack of new products - and they look great! Pictured is the Techlife Compact Laptop Messenger bag ($54.95) - I reviewed a smaller version of this bag, the Netbook Messenger, and it rocks. This new version has slightly re-configured internal pouches designed to accommodate a 13" laptop. After the break, more new products, but before you go there, remember to use the coupon code DIGIDEAL to save 20% off any order more than $50, and to sign up for the Skooba newsletter - they often have special promotions and discounts. Tenba's Small Messenger Photo Bag: A Worthy Bag For Your Laptop and DSLR

Posted by Jason Dunn in "Laptop Thoughts Accessories" @ 07:00 AM

I really like bags. Laptop bags, camera bags, gadget bags of all sorts - there's something I find enjoyable, if not downright soothing, about having the perfect bag. Blame it on my first born child, Type A personality. What makes the perfect bag? For me, it's having a bag with logically designed pouches, zippers, and straps. Something that's lightweight, easy to carry when heavily loaded, and great for travelling. A poorly designed bag can put a crimp in any trip; when I attended the 2009 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, I used a bag that was so poorly suited for travel I hated it by the time I got home. Having no bag can put you in an even worse mood - having to travel to CES 2010 without a laptop bag of any sort was downright frustrating. Read more...
